Job Purpose

As a Porsche Classic Technician at Porsche Centre Dubai, your primary responsibility is to maintain the authenticity and performance of classic Porsche vehicles. You will recommend and execute restoration on various components, conduct maintenance services, and ensure adherence to Porsche standards. Your role involves collaborating with the Classic Specialist, engaging with customers, and upholding the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities

1.     Recommend and execute restoration on various components, including engines, transmissions, bodywork, electrical, and suspension parts, in line with Porsche Classic restoration standards.

2.     Conduct both major and minor maintenance services, repairs, tire and wheel changes, and additional necessary services according to Porsche standards.

3.     Review work orders and communicate effectively with the Classic Specialist to ensure clarity and alignment.

4.     Act as a project lead, engaging with vehicle-owning customers to ensure their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.

5.     Conduct final quality reviews and diligently prepare inspection documents to uphold the highest standards.

6.     Demonstrate the ability to explain technical diagnoses and repair requirements to both mechanical and non-mechanical individuals as needed.

7.     Read and interpret test reports, maintenance and repair orders, and efficiently locate necessary parts and materials while synchronizing workflow and coordinating vehicle cycles.

8.     Identify and resolve errors and disorders using diagnostic tools, Porsche workshop manuals, generate repair lists, and create performance charts and diagnostic reports.

9.     Develop accurate cost estimates for repairs, including labor time and parts, to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction.

10.  Plan work procedures meticulously using charts and technical manuals, while ensuring adherence to quality parameters and completeness of work.

11.  Conduct comprehensive examinations of vehicles to assess the extent of damage or malfunctions accurately.

12.  Follow detailed checklists to thoroughly inspect all critical parts, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, and wheel bearings.

13.  Collaborate closely with the Classic Team and Workshop Team to achieve Porsche Classic targets and define improvement plans if necessary.

14.  Perform meticulous care and cleaning tasks on parts, vehicles, and workspaces as outlined in the plan or as needed.

15.  Along with Classic Specialist conduct test drives, rectify any deficiencies, and perform final inspections of vehicles or assemblies, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures.

16.  Provide guidance, direction, and training to junior or in-training technicians to foster their professional growth and development.

17.  Maintain up-to-date training and certifications to meet Porsche Classic standards and stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques.

18.  Assist in troubleshooting and adjusting communication systems to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance.

19.  Collaborate with the Classic Specialist and Workshop Team to develop and implement strategies for enhancing efficiency and productivity in restoration and maintenance processes.

20.  Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Classic Technician team, contributing to the overall success of the Porsche Classic Workshop at Porsche Centre Dubai.

Education/Qualification, Skills, Competencies and Experience

a.        Education/Qualification

• Industrial Trade Mechanic certification or
• Diploma in Automobile/ Mech Egg or
• Technical Qualification in automotive mechanics or related field

b.        Experience (experience required for the job)

• Extensive experience in maintaining, repairing, and restoring classic Porsche vehicles
• Proficiency in using Porsche diagnostic tools for electrical and fuel systems
• Familiarity with Porsche-specific repair methodologies and tools
